I just saw the install prompt show up for me on desktop. Note the install prompt does not always show for visitors. It only shows in Chrome after a certain level of user engagement is reached.

I am seeing an “Install app” option when I open the Chrome menu. I don’t see the install banner, but it may not be detecting I have the right level of engagement.

thanks, I also find install app in chrome option. But My question is what is level of engagement? And any way to add this app link with promote button on website, like follow button of social media.?

The level of engagement is determined by the browser and it’s not standardized, as far as I know.

According to Getting started with Progressive Web Apps:

Be visited twice, with at least 5 minutes between visits

As for how to customize the appearance of the install button, yes, this can be done. See the Installation prompt article on web.dev and Trigger installation from your PWA on MDN.
