• Hi, I recently changed my site over to a gantry framework theme (grunge) @ walkingdeadtheatre.com. It’s a fan site for the tv show “The Walking Dead”. That becomes relevant in a second.

We were averaging around 300 visitors a day but on episode nights and a few days past, we see 1000-2000 visitors. Since the change (just before the last episode Sunday) our stats have plummeted to 1/5 of what they were and today, jetpack shows that we have had 11 visitors.

Since I more or less installed gantry and jetpack on top of each other, I don’t know who to blame. I have read about jetpack screwing up stats so I am leaning that direction and would like to remove it. Then I read about how removing it is a pain and people have to get the host involved. Do I just delete the files from my ftp? Will this screw up my site if I try to remove it?

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

We’ll I haven’t played with the JetPack, but having a backup of all files and database (in sql file) is always a good idea. Once you’ll have your backup I think that you can just go for it because you always have your content which you can revert to if anything goes wrong. Sorry that I couldn’t be helpful on that one.

    Thanks,
    Jakub
