Updating to 4.2.2 generates the following:
    Update WordPress
    Downloading update from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/release/wordpress-4.2.2-no-content.zip…
    Unpacking the update…
    Verifying the unpacked files…
Preparing to install the latest version…
    Enabling Maintenance mode…
    Copying the required files…

And then nothing, site is offline in “Maintenance mode” with no ability to get back to dashboard…
Options? Manual install maybe via FTP?
    Insights would be appreciated.

And remember delete the .maintenance hidden file to get out of maintenance mode.

Well…while gathering the files to move to manual update…it process seems to have resolved itself – for some reason the update just seemed to be taking an extraordinarily long time to complete. Some observations
    – the dashboard became active but with the message that the automatic wp update had failed.
    – during this time there was a 15/20 minute delay on my side working to backup database and gather file info..
    – after returning to site and refreshing it showed that the update had installed and that WP 4.2.2 was running.

Issue resolved – by itself. Strange, but good.

I’m getting stuck. Mine stops at the “copying Files” and then I get the “your site is in maintenance mode” message. After about 7-10 minutes i can reload and I’m told the update failed and I need to try again. I try, and the cycle repeats. Anyone else stuck on that?

Mike, you’ll have better results if you start your own topic, this one is ‘resolved’.

Or just try the manual update referred above ;|
