I can report a very similar problem.

The list of categories is never loaded, neither from the demo gallery, nor from my own.

A little AJAX debugging showed me that somehow the response to ws.php is always empty. However, if I recreate it with curl, the response is just fine.

Yes, I know. The problem happens with all galleries that are not hosted on the *very* same server, and the reason is that cross-site scripting is blocked.

I need to rewrite the album loading part via a proxy php script, but that needs some time.

For now it *only* works if the wordpress blog and piwigo installation are on the same domain.

Ah, that makes sense of course.

And that proxy script is easy in theory, but it would require some configuration for the plugin. You don’t want to have a proxy which can proxy just everywhere by some hostname parameter…

Ok, I have fixed the issue. Version 2.28 allows you to load album/categories from piwigo installations that are not on the same server.
