Install issues

I installed BuddyPress Template Pack during setup.
During setup, I told BP to use an existing page for the forums. That page was deleted. ??
BP listed options to create new pages by default for members, activate and register. It did not do that. I created the pages and associations manually.
The forums are linked to /share. However, when I go to that page now, I get taken to the home page instead. If I unlink it from BP, I can access it.
