Install OK, preview OK, can't visit site

  • I have several WP installs on various servers but this is a new problem.

    I installed 3.2.1 on a server at a hosting company with which I have used successfully. Since the site I’m building is going to run on WP, I installed in the root directory (in which there was an index.html file which I later deleted to avoid conflict).

    The install went OK, admin works OK, I can add new posts, everything previews OK, but when I click Visit Site from admin or Home from the previewed page it takes me to what appears to be the old index.html of the hosting company.

    I haven’t installed directly into the root directory before with this hosting company. I wonder if I should install in a separate folder and just point to root.

    Any guidance?

    -try clearing cache in your browser. Also, try different computer/different browser.

    Bingo. Duh. I keep forgetting that Chrome seems to have a stickier cache than other browsers.
