• Our current website Domain is through GoDaddy and its hosted through our current website designer.

I want to create a new website through WordPress. I have researched that creating a Sub-Domain would be the best option for me to work on our new site while our exciting site remain live.

I can go onto GoDaddy and create the sub-domain, but since our hosting is done through the website designer (I’m sure they will not give me access) can I add an exciting domain who is already hosted by another program to a new hosting site, so in essence the same domain is hosted by two different hosting sites? Or maybe I could just add the Subdomain to the new hosting site with the main domain on the original hosting site?

I would like to work on our new site while our old site if live. Would it be easier to just create a whole new domain name and then migrate the new domain with the old one once the site is complete?

    Your thoughts would be appreciated.

It would be better and cheaper, since you won’t have to buy a new domain. I suggest to go with this approach.

Thanks for your reply, can you have a your main domain hosted on one site and your subdomain hosted on another site?

Yes you can. All you need to do is set the ‘A’ DNS record for the subdomain to point to the different hosting server.
