So, I have been very confused about how to use this plugin. Do I install it on all the child sites, or do I only install it on the site with the MainWP plugin? I already have WPVivid plugin on all the child sites.

    Hi @poohgq

This plugin(extension) should be installed on the MainWP site only.

WPvivid Backup Plugin should be installed on child sites.

For more details, please also check out our step-by-step tutorial on How to Install and Setup WPvivid Backup for MainWP Extension.

    All the best,

I went through tons of searching just to find this out (Thanks for the question).

It is NOT clear what to do. I originally downloaded the one for MainWP on my wp site. Would it be so hard to CLEARLY state how it supposed to work (when using both on site and MainWP site)?

    Hello @spirit3soul

We have added a get started guide on the plugin’s description page > INSTALLATION AND SETUP section.

Can you give some advice on where else we should add a note?

    All the best,

I read the description page and guide – it only really speaks to setting up on MainWP with a mention of the regular plugin, yet not clearly.

My advice for plugin description and installation set up is to be CLEAR. You would save people lots of time of them downloading and installing the wrong things because they are using MainWP. Then having to uninstall it and reinstall the regular plug in on MWP child sites. PLEASE

    1) Install WPVivid Backup for MainWP on MainWP site ONLY.

    2) Install WPVivid Backup Plugin (not MainWP) on each individual site.

I would even mention that on the regular plugin description that if they are using MainWP, they can install WPV for MainWP on the MWP site to connect them.

My teacher always said ‘tell them, tell them clearly and then tell them again’.

Hope that helps. Thanks for the response.
