Install on IIS

  • Currently work for an e-commerce site that runs their site on IIS. I would like to put up a wordpress blog at https://www.site.com/blog It seems like getting it up and running on this server will be difficult. Do I have any other options? Can I have the blog setup on a different server with that domain name?

    You can try and read Microsoft’s own documentation on getting wordpress/php running on IIS here https://www.microsoft.com/web/wordpress

    Just remember that adding this to a production server that is running something else, especially an e-commerce site — as presumably that makes money, you should take due care, lest you break it, also be careful what you are running on WordPress, often 3rd party plugins and themes have known exploits, if you want to keep working for that e-commerce site, you want to make sure no one is going to get access to that e-commerce database through a bad plugin on your WordPress Blog.
