  • Ehm, one other thing… your wp-config is freely accessible at the moment… can read it and see the password too…

    Just mentioning.

it should give a sourcecode like <html><body></body></html>

    What should I do?

Delete wp-config.php from the server now.
    Change your password.
Find out if php is supported.

    Any response from FortuneCity yet?

Somehow it seems that the requirements are reached, but somewhere the full installation gets bugged.
I for me, in cases like these, just would drop everything and do a new and clean install, with no strange tweaking, just basics. When something strange happens it usually comes down to mistake or typo I made myself…

I deleted the entire directory for security purposes. I called Fortunecity and they told me that I don’t have php priveleges. I need to upgrade my subscription one level higher for that. I am ready to upgrade. However, is there another way for me to put up a web blog page that doesn’t require php? If there is none, then I’ll wait for 9am to get my plan upgraded. Please advise. Thanks.

You can’t run WordPress on your own site without PHP, no.

There are hosted services where you can have your own blog, but not on your webspace – search for that here.

Or you could use something like Blogger to get you started.

    Bummer, I feel with you.
Find a host where you have some more freedom…

    Good luck!

Okay. So the upgrade is inevitable. Thanks for the info.

    it’s not accepting my password

You are currently trying to upload to the BlueHost? Is it fully accessible yet? Verify whether it is case-sensitive. And some host require special settings on active or passive mode…

I have uploaded my website using their drag and drop interface. My website is functional now. I’ll do the same thing with the WordPress files. Their ccustomer support is not 24hrs, so I have to wait another hour to have them fix my FTP problems. In the meantime, I’m okay with the drag and drop thingie.
