• Before I ask this question, yes I’ve looked through the help pages.

I recently had wordpress installed for free with the help of the install4free folks. They did a wonderful job and the site is installed under my root folder (www.auctionbabez.com). I would like one more separate blog to be created under a subdirectory(www.auctionbabez.com/xxx). Is there anyone out there that can help install this for me? Install4free says they do not install more than one blog. I have the space and extra sql databases available, I just don’t want to mess anything up.

    Please Help!

    or

perhaps you ought to submit your request to the wp-pros email list where you can get paid support.

there are always people looking for extra cash.

Where can I find the wp-pros email list and/or information about the group?

    Paying for services
Requesting paid help is discouraged. We do not want to give any impression that WordPress help is anything but free. We also do not need bidding wars in the forums.
If you have posted some contact information your thread will be closed.
If you have not posted that information we will ask you to and when you do the thread will be closed.
Any thread that offers any service for money can be closed at any time. We are not against paid services but these forums are not the right place for them.
We have a WP-Pro mailing list which you are encouraged to use.

and I do realize that you didn’t ask for paid help, I just wanted you to know that it was available.

Thank you for the feedback. If I do attempt this install myself I’m assuiming that I would store everything in a file titled “xxx” under the wwwRoot directory, no? My blog was installed under the root directory with a folder titled “wordpress”, but I guess it was set to be the first page when a user types https://www.auctionbabez.com

yes, thats what you would do.

you also dont need the extra MySQL databse. Just change the wordpress prefix inside your already working install from wp_ to something else.

    Thats set inside wp-config.php

That way you can basically download, change that prefix, and upload the newly changed wp-config.php to your new install, reusing all the other data, which you know already works.

I tried following this thread and my second program is not working for me. I have WP 2.3 installed in my root directory. Home page is site.org. I created a folder in the root called “new” and did a “successful” installation of my new program into the NEW folder(it is NOT WordPress so I set up a second data base. By successful I mean it loaded, I did the install and received my comfirma tion email with login info). However, the login page takes me to a 404 WordPress page, with my existing theme and all!

I an trying to create an address of https://www.wordpress_site/new with the new program. can anyone advise?

(program is Lyceum if it matters, and of course no forum there… I tried a test of WP MU and kept losing my login page)
