• Yes i understand there is a million different topics on this, but i have searched through all of them and none of them really answer my questions.

    Ill tell you the situation.

I have my own domain ($17 a year from WordPress.com), I host with hostgator($80-$90 a year) and i have installed wordpress through the cpanel on hostgator.

That is as far as I have gotten (I do apologize I am VERY new to this)

When i go back to my website to the dashboard it still does not have an install theme button.
Now when people say wordpress.com does not allow installing themes and informs to go to www.ads-software.com…there is no dashboard for my site on www.ads-software.com let alone a log in button.

So what have I done wrong and what do I need to do?
    Thanks

I do go to wordpress.com to access the dashboard, is there something i need to do to migrate it to www.ads-software.com?

You need to speak to the folks at wordpress.com about transferring your domain name to your new self-hosted WordPress site.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I think i have solved the problem.
Just so if anyone else reads this i contacted Hostgator who were very helpful and informed me that my nameservers were not pointing towards hostgator.
I changed that and now im just awaiting the allotted time to see if it works.
