Install WordPress Welcome Screen

I am very new to this. I followed the directions to install from a youtube video. “How To Install WordPress from Scratch – Part 1 and 2”
I signed up for a hostgator account and registered my webpage with namecheap.com. I extracted the WordPress files from the zip file and entered MySQL name and password into a file I renamed “wp-config.php” I used the filezilla client to transfer all the extracted wordpress files to the Hostgator server. From the video it shows that now when I go to my registered website I should see the WordPress install welcome page, but instead I get the namecheap.com domain parking site. What do I need to do now? Also, are there any good reference books for WordPress. Thanks.
