• Dear Jan Dembowski,

That was the strangest reply to a support question I have ever received. Here I am on the support page for Easy Facebook Feed, landed here by clicking support in my plug-in, asking a support question. You replied saying that I can’t do that… and then you left a link to nothing and shut down further replies to my post. How is this helpful? As you observed, I’m a paying customer and deserve real help.

    So again…

I just purchased the pro version of the plug-in and am trying to set it up. I installed it but when I click on Settings, I get this error message: “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”

How do I gain access to the settings as outlined in the installation instructions.

    Thank you.
    Ron

    Hi Ron,

Thank you for using Easy Facebook Feed.

This error message is a general WordPress error message and usually happens when your login session is expired or when the current user has not enough permissions to access the page.

I tried to replicate this error in my development environment but no luck. Does the error only occur on the settings page of this plugin? Do you stil get the error message when you disable Easy Facebook Feed Pro?

    Hi Tim,

    Thank you for your help!

I first installed the free version but immediately thought better of it and knew I wanted the pro version. Before I deleted it, I saw that it put the controls for it in the WordPress left side navbar. I deleted it and installed the pro version. It did not put anything on the left side but instead the only control I see is in the plug-in page where the options are Settings – Deactivate – Edit. I click Settings and I get an all white page with the error message. I only get this message when I click the Settings link on the plug-in.

Though not very helpful, I took a couple of screenshots and they’re here: https://gearupsports.net/files/FacebookFeed.jpg

    I really appreciate your help.

    Hi Ron,

    Glad to help you out.

I think I see whats happening. When I remove the free version and only install the pro version I get the same error message. The pro version is an extension of the free version, so you need them both installed and activated. I understand this can be confusing. I’ll see if I can do something to make this easier in the future.

To fix the error message all you have to do is keep the pro version and add the free version so you have them both installed and activated.
