• Hi,

So this is my situation I am helping a friend build their website through www.ads-software.com. But I wasn’t part of it in the beginning so the initial installation wasn’t in my pc. Basically my question is do I still have to download/install the wordpress software to my pc even it was already set-up in godaddy.com (yes, we’re using godaddy as our host/server)? Can I just login straight to https://www.mydomain.com/wp-admin to make changes/updates? I was also thinking maybe I can do it on my SmartFTP.

But the idea is for me to build the site from scratch. I’m just not sure at the part where we have to change the wp-config-php and all the installation. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

By the way the site is: https://www.kiwirootsmusic.com

    Thanks!

    no

    yes

build the site from scratch. … at the part where we have to change the wp-config-php and all the installation.

if you keep the site based on WordPress, you would merely build/design a new theme – the rest can stay the same.

    Thanks alchymyth!

Another question though, can I still use FTP even if I don’t download the wordpress installer? Or I can only update through the site?

    Thanks again!

    Hi soriso,
You can use FTP even if you didn’t download wordpress.
All the files are uploaded on the site so you can dowload a file change it and upload it using FTP without issues.
