Installation didn’t provide new version number

  • Nope. I looked at the source on your page and it’s showing the Generator as: WordPress 2.0.7.

    Personally, I’d reinstall after backing up everything again. When you install, I’d disable your plugins temporarily, wipe out the existing WP files (again after another backup) and put a fresh copy on your server.

    Then, configure, and upload your theme and setup or re-enable your plugins.

    Curious – did you install by downloading the updated version and overwriting existing files, or did you use Fantastico or similar?

    A view-source of your page says you’re still at 2.0.7:

    <meta name="generator" content="WordPress 2.0.7" />

    Did you run the upgrade.php script?

    sewmyheadon – I had upgraded manually, but apparently something somewhere didn’t stick. I followed your instructions, and now everything is just fine. Thanks!
