Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_home_path() in /home/rejonorg/public_html/wp-admin/includes/misc.php on line 128

Tried to install from the admin interface and also via ftp. Both cases result in the above error when activating.

Fixed by deleting the directory plugins/events-manager – all fine.

didn’t experience this error before – is it possible to try the following steps just to narrow down the problem and determine any possible conflict?

    – deactivating all other plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems

    ok now …

    deactivated ALL plugins
    installed and activated Events Manager
reactivated one-by-one (well actually did all the buddypress ones at the same time)

    all ok!

deleted plugin folder and site back up

What version of WordPress are you using? If it’s an older version you could try upgrading.

It sounds to me like you might have a WordPress file missing or incomplete. I’ve found that’s what errors like that often mean. If you’re already on the latest version of WordPress, it might be worth re-installing it via Dashboard > Updates.

currently WP 3.6.1. I’ll try the re-install and let you know.

    nope …

used re-install, then added events manager

    then activate at https://198.91.24.166/wp-admin/plugins.php?activate=true&plugin_status=all&paged=1&s=

    results in same error …

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_home_path() in /home/rejonorg/public_html/wp-admin/includes/misc.php on line 128

this time I could NOT recover the site by just deleting events manager.

so I DELETED all plugins. I’ve now installed only events manager and will start re-introducing the plugins one by one and will test the date format change of events manager (which forced the error in an earlier scenario) to see if/when I get the same error.

    I’ll let you know.

    and the culprit is …

    bp-group-documents

install this (along with the rest of buddypress – see above for what I have installed), then try to update the events manager date formats (Settings / Formatting / Date Time) and I think you’ll get the problem.

I’d really like the bp-group-documents functionality. Should I be raising an alarm on their support forum?

yes, however maybe you can ask if they support Custom Post Type such as EM.
