  • @groceryboi Is the plugin still installed? Was it installed from the WordPress Plugin Repository or one that you downloaded from a third-party site? Can you describe the issues you were having yesterday?

There is no plugins installed. I try to download/install them and that is the error message I am getting.

    [HELP] Classifieds plugin
I wanna make a site where users can buy and sell bike parts. I’ve been looking into different classifieds plugins but I can’t decide which one I should go for, or if I should try to make something myself with the help of other plugins. It seems as the classifieds plugins have functions I don’t need, and the functions I want costs extra.

Does anyone have experience with a simple solution for creating a site for buying and selling used products?

@groceryboi Were you able to download and install plugins before yesterday? Are you the only WordPress user on the site (and if not, do you know your level of access: Administrator, Editor, Author, etc.)?

@lynsar Yes I was able to download and install plugins before.
Yes I am the only person to touch the back end. I am an admin.

was your htaccess file modified by the plugin. It could have written a new rule preventing the downloads. The only other thing I could think of to check is the authority of your plugin folder. Maybe somehow the authority was changed.

@groceryboi Can you tell us how you installed the plugin yesterday? Did you:
    1. Search for the plugin on the WordPress Plugin Repository (Plugins > Add New > Search)
    2. Upload a plugin that was downloaded elsewhere (Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin)
    3. Unzip a downloaded plugin package and upload the files to your website via ftp in your wp-content/plugins folder

@lynsar I tried to download it from the plugin repository. Also I had a bunch of plugins prior to the problem and now they are all gone.
    I am lost ??

@groceryboi Do you have FTP access? If it seems like the error was caused by a specific plugin and you feel comfortable going this route you can go to public_html>wp-content>plugins and delete the folder for the offending plugin.

    Hi guys,

I’m facing the same error. I’m running Ubuntu 16.04 and my server is setup and configured on a VPS. Could it be the issue with permissions? How can I setup permissions correctly? I found this page: https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/changing-file-permissions-and-filezilla-command-line-essays
But I’m not sure if I’m doing everything properly.
