    Hello!

    I’m getting this message when I try to upgrade or install a plugin:

    Installation failed: The package could not be installed.

    All my sites have this problem.

    Anyone have an idea to solve this?

    I’m using Dreamhost vps with PHP 5.6.

  • Hello, elp, & welcome. I suspect your file ownership is incorrect. Could you tell us who owns the WordPress files, please?

    Hello Jackie!

    The Dreamhost support found the problem: the tmp/ directory was full. After empty this folder all works again. Problem Solved.
