Installation for Dummies?

  • I should be able to understand how to set up WordPress on my website, but I get completely lost following the instructions.

    I verified with my ISP that the site will support WordPress, but got confused with the whole series of steps here:
    Step 2: Create the Database and a User

    What I really need is WordPress installation for dummies, I guess.

    Is there any type of support group that can handwalk me through the initial setup?

  • Your web host probably already set up your database and sent your user name and database connection information. Check the emails you got from the web host.

    I just started a new blog 3 days age where I try to walk WordPress newbies (not necessarily dummies ?? ) through getting a WP site up and running. Though I’m still working on it (I haven’t event changed the default theme yet :-)), you can check out this post. It will walk you through to steps to prepare everything before installing WP. Maybe you missed something.
