instructions for a fantastico install:
1) Click on Fantastico –
You are presented with a screen that has many options one of which is WordPress.
2) Click WordPress (wow they have 1.5 on there? Blimey!)
Click new installation where it tells you diskspace etc.
3) You are taken to another screen:
Installation location
Install on domain: leave this alone
Install in directory: where do you want it to install? If you want to install in the root directory, this will install all your files so when you view your page you will go to https://yourdomain.com for your blog. If you want, you can install in a folder called BLOG just type the word blog (case sensitive) no / or . or anything, just the word that you want your directory to be called.
Admin access data
Administrator-username (you need this to enter the protected admin area): What do you want the login username to be.
Password (you need this to enter the protected admin area): what do you want the login password to be.
Base configuration
Admin nickname: your nickname (instead of admin, you can have it call you diamondgirl.
Admin e-mail (your email address): your actual email address so that yo can receive messages if you forget your password.
Site name: Just give it a name – Diamondgirl’s Blog for example
Description: Leave blank or type in a description such as I like to blog so bite me.
E-mail account configuration – if you’re not sure leave all this blank
E-mail account username – same as above
E-mail account password – same as above
POP/SMTP server – same as above
POP/SMTP server port – same as above
Note for the Email configuration, most of the details will be filled in expcet the password, enter the password or clear all the fields.
Click install WordPress. Job done.
Make a note of the login information, site address etc.
EDIT: Dawg what you see is their manin page, I think the blog is on another install – remember she’s having touble installing, so I’d be shocked if a site would be up and running like that this quickly.
