• Hello. I installed your plugin, configured it, etc. But…
    Tells me that…

…”Place the settings shortcode in your template or back page”…

So I ask them, where does this code and/or the php code go?

    I tell you what I tried…
    a) I replaced the block inside the column where the search engine is, with a custom html block. But only the short code appears ??

    b) I wanted to implement the code in question in the results page (search.php) but, WordPress tells me that…
…”You can NOT edit this file”…

    c) I also tried to install the php code in the same file (search.php) but… It tells me exactly the same thing (I can NOT edit it).

But before you answer, let me put you in context…
    1) I am redesigning my site, which is why the website with which I have doubts is the following;

    stage9.atutrabajo.org/

(stage9 is a subdomain that I’m working on to later reupload to replace the original that is, yourwork.org)

    2) By virtue of the above, my site has (and will have) this “look”…
    https://ibb.co/6YDPy6w

That is – if you realize – you ALREADY have (will have) a search engine in the header.
So what is the problem”? Actually, none. But…

    What I need to change is the RESULT of these searches, which is as you can see below;
    https://ibb.co/KFM71K2

(As you can see, I made the screen a little smaller to fit a little more. But hey)

    3) Considering the above points, I wanted to change these RESULTS. As a result of which, it occurred to me to install your plugin in order to take advantage of its benefits.
    For example:
    – The ability to crop “thumbnail” images
    – The ability to highlight keywords
    – Etc.

    So I ask you…
Is there a chance that by using MY search form + your plugin I can improve my results page?

    I await your comments.

From already thank you very much.

    Greetings.

    Hi,

    Sorry for the late response!

The results page layout itself can not be changed via a search plugin – the layout of that is controlled by the theme you are using. You will have to change the actual theme file to change the design of the results page.

If you can not edit the theme files, you may need to use an (s)FTP client instead of the plugin editor. You can find many tutorials on the internet on how to do that.

    Hello. Thanks for answering.

Yes. As Chapulín Colorado used to say…”I suspected it from the beginning”, heh!

Okay. So I’ll see what I do.

However, with your plugin, it may not be necessary for them to click on the magnifying glass and go to that “bland” results page, heh.

That said, and in the same vein…
To speed up the results and, at the same time, avoid using my hosting’s cpu, I just connected to Algolia’s “free” service (up to 10,000 queries/month).

But, even so, I can’t see the results “instantly” (As I have seen on some sites).
    So I ask you…
Is there a way to see said results more “instantly”?

    I await your comments.

From already thank you very much.

    Greetings.

PS: So that you understand what I am trying to explain, if you want, try searching – with your search engine – for something within my site (Remember that I am talking about; Curriculum, Job Search, Job Interview, Etc.)

Perhaps the “problem” is due to the fact that my notebook is “old”, heh.

But, if it were possible for the results to appear more “instantly”, the visitor would not have to click on the magnifying glass because they would see that the possible results appear as they write.
