Installation issue

    Hi there…

    Like numerous other people on the site, I can not get wordpress installed propperly. Sorry, correction, it installs fine… but I can NOT login afterward. I HAVE cleared my cache, I HAVE deleted my cookies. I can still not log in.

    Can you guys please figure out what is going on. Lots of these requests on the forum, and each and everyone has the advice of clearing the cache and the cookies. THIS DOES NOT WORK.

    My install is on a windows 2003 Web edition box. I was able to install 2.6 without any issues, but 2.7 just does not work.

    Oh yes, before I forget, I have ripped out and reinstalled the database 4 times… the actual files 3 times…

    Unfortunately, that is the problem. No fix that I am aware of other than use 2.6 or move to Linux.

    Right, I figured this out.

    For some reason, if you look in the database, under the table wp_options the first option is siteurl. The value for mine here was https://mysite/step2. I got rid of the step 2, and the whole thing started to work. Logins work now too.
