I have repeatedly tried to install the Updraft plugin on our WordPress site, but the installation fails.

    – wordpress thinks it’s installed (in that it appears in the installed plugin menu), but as soon as we click on any of the options it takes us to a message which says:”There has been a critical error on your website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions. Learn about debugging in WordPress’

    – and the admin email states “In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore.” The email also says “Next, visit the page where the error was caught”, but when i click on this link it says “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page” (this is even when i am logged in to my WordPress admin account)

    FYI, we’re opeeating on:

    WordPress version 5.4.4
    Current theme: Neve (version 2.9.3)
    Current plugin: UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore (version 1.16.43)
    PHP version 7.3.25
and our hosting platform gives us 10GB smart SSD, so I don’t think the problem lies there since our site only has 30 pages.

Any and all help gratefully received.

    Hi,

It appears that one of the plugin you are using is causing conflict with UpdraftPlus.

Please can you try to temporarily deactivate all the other plugins and see if you still get the same issue? If not, then, try activating them one by one to find out the plugin that is causing the issue.

    Best Wishes,
    Bryle
