Installation Problems

  • I installed word press using wamp server using a tutorial that I am not sure about.
    I cannot find my domain name for the site.
    It keeps on showing localhost/rabbit.
    I want it to be changed please help

  • Hi jamaicafinance,

    Let’s say that jamaicafinance.com is your domain name. Wamp merely allows you to simulate a web server on your personal computer so that you can create and look at your website before putting it on the internet. When you’re working through wamp, you’ll see localhost/rabbit in your web browser. Once you pick a web host and upload your files to their web server, then you’ll see jamaicafinance.com/rabbit. Does that make sense?

    Totally agree with your input.

    If your site is using a WAMP server, it is local or on your computer. You will need to “publish” it to your web host’s server in order for the public to see it. Hope that helps!
