Installation problems with Windows IIS 7 dedicated server

Hello,

I am running a windows 2008 IIS 7.0 server and am trying to install wordpress in a subdirectory. I have installed wordpress many times on hostgator before without any problems, but now that I am on a windows server I can’t seem to identify why install won’t run.

When going directly to the url I get:

403 – Forbidden: Access is denied.
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.

and when going to /wp-admin/install.php I get:

500 – Internal server error.
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.

After reviewing some of the threads, I attempted to change permissions, duplicate a .htaccess file, since one was not generated, and checked to see if php was properly installed with a fastcgi bin. I am still at the same place I began, nothing.

Please help.
