• I would be very grateful for your help.
I am attempting a manual install of WordPress for my domain https://www.fmsmovement.com. I have proceeded carefully but am falling at the final hurdle – the WordPress install page is not appearing – I am getting a very poorly laid out webpage with some sponsored links appearing and with no reference to WordPress.
    So far . . . .
I have downloaded WordPress, established a database (MySLQ), amended the config file with the database info and uploaded the wp files to Hostgator via Filezilla. I have also pointed my domain name to Hostgator.
However, when I finally go to my domain name via WordPress admin, I do not get an install page. How do I get the correct install page to present itself?

    Kind Regards
    Helen

  • After you have pointed your domain name to Hostgator, it can take up to 72 hours for that update to “get around the world” to everyone, including you, who may be accessing your site. Normally, however, in metro areas of major industrialized countries, it is usually at most 12 hours.

I just did a WHOIS on your domain name and it still shows as domainmonster.com, not hostgator. So, either you did not correctly change the domain name servers at domainmonster to point to hostgator. Or, more likely, you did it in the last few hours, and it has not updated my whois server yet.

Anyway, long story to tell you why you can’t see your install page.
