Well title says it all – I’ve been trying to work this out with webhost with no luck. Webhost tried an install on separate account – same behavior.

When I revert back to 2.9.2 I get the dashboard but no add-on or upgrade functionality. I actually saw a message state that I had the latest update already installed????

Anyone else go through this and fixed it??? Any Ideas???

If you don’t have a backup that you can restore from, reverting is not recommended as it can break quite a few things. You’ll have to upgrade manually now:

Disable all plugins before upgrading this time.

    SOLVED!!!

The Webhost discovered that the WordPress 3.0.1 installed without problem on another server. They compared servers and whala!! They found the only difference to be SUPHP on the working server. So they installed that (it controls permissions needed by WordPress 3.0.1) and I used their newest software installer Softaculous! One button installation – It was great!!!

My WordPress 3.0.1. is working like a charm!!!
