    Hi all,

My installation went fine. I followed the usual 5 minute installation process and used a /blog directory to put my files in.

However when I visit my blog homepage or admin homepage it doesn’t take me to the index.php file? It just shows a list of all the files in the respective directory.

    https://www.PhoneDevil.com/wp-admin

I have double checked in the blog wp-admin control panel that it is definately using the /blog directory.

    Please help! ??

Takes me to a forum page.

And what the heck is Jeff Johnson’s UndergroundTrainingLab.com doing on your site? Check this:

Bizarre. Where did you get the WP distro files from?

there appears to be a place pushing a download of “SEO customized wordpress” .. not a theme mind you, but a hack (which probably includes all kinds of back doors)

anyway, it spams itself on YOUR blog, which is definitely SEO customization, but for THEM not you.

OP should consider installing again – this time, a fresh copy downloaded from www.ads-software.com.

Also, the default document for your site needs to be set to include index.php (but deal with that after you’ve installed a fresh copy of wordpress).

    sorry joni i meant https://www.phonedevil.com/blog/wp-admin

Ivovic what do you mean by the default document?
I’m quite annoyed to hear that about the jeff johnstone stuff – I thought it was going to help ??

    Thanks both ??

I’ve installed a fresh copy of WordPress now,

Can someone advise what Ivovic meant by “the default document for your site needs to be set to include index.php”, as I am still having issues.

    Thanks ??

I believe he means that when you type in the URL for your site (your domain), your server should display index.php, the page, not a directory listing like it’s been doing. If there is an index.html file in the root of your WP directory, then try renaming it to index.html.hide and see if you can see your site then.

Or edit your .htaccess file to add this line at the top:
    DirectoryIndex index.php

    Does this make sense?

    Oh dear…

The index files work now, but the other pages dont!

The admin area works great, but if you try to visit pages on my blog page it says it cant find any of the pages?
I activated the default theme to see if there was an issue with the theme i’m using, but it didn’t work either..

Please help! ?? …also, why is all this happening to me?! (by the time you read this i’ll have thought up a whole load of conspiracy theories ??
