• I installed the previous version of WordPress, 1.02, and tried to run the import script for b2, but it didn’t work. Now I’ve got a cleared database and nothing but a WP demo blog. I then upgraded to WordPress 1.2 thinking it would be able to import my b2 logs, but apparently not.
I do have a backup of my b2 database. So how do I get the backup to go into my new WP blog?

  • I’ve had the some troubles 2 days before, my principal problem was actually PhpMyAdmin.
Indeed, after backin up my b2 database, i wasn’t able to put it again online… because of some characters escaping..So I changed my phpmyadmin to an older one, and now it’s just mervelous ??
Now that you have the backup, drop all the tables in your db then put the backup again and try to do wp-admin/upgrade.php and then (even with errors) go to wp-admin/import-b2.php and enjoy ?? It works fine for me.
You can visit it @ https://www.cafefort.com and let there a comment ??
    Have a nice day.

The problem is, I don’t know what to do with the backup. Like, I don’t know the steps required in order to put it back into the db. I have a .gz file – is there an import button that will do everything for me? Or do I have to unzip, upload, import everything 1 by 1? I’m running phpMyAdmin as well on my server. i’m so confused… thanks for responding!

    No problem brother ??
Unzip the .gz file, you’ll get an sql file contanting sql instructions to create your tables and insert in your old records.
Now login to your phpmyadmin and just execute the file you get when you unziped the .gz
you see : Run SQL query/queries on database … ?
Look down you’ll see : … or Location of the textfile :
upload there the sql file you extracted.
