    I am assisting another user with their blog. The previous person had the blog set up in another directory and it was was not working properly. So I decided to install WP in the main root of the domain. I got that working with the same database they were using but none of the posts are there. So I tried to log into the old directory to export the posts and it just takes me to the dashboard of the new one I created. Can someone help me? I need to retrieve these posts, especially since this is not my blog.

    The original directory was located at
    https://www.yoursoulsguide.com/wp/wp-admin

    I put it into the root directory so now I login through https://www.yoursoulsguide.com/wp-admin

    I don’t want to delete the /wp directory yet. As far as I knew all posts and such were kept on the database. I’m not sure why they are not in the new blog I just created.

    Can someone assist me, please?

    Thank you!

    Also, I reuploaded all of their pictures via FTP into upload directory under wp-content. Not only are they not showing up but when I try to upload a picture it tells me:
    “comingsoonlogo.png” has failed to upload due to an error
    The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads/2013/07

    Hello, it’s hard to tell with your Coming Soon plugin installed.

    In your wp-config.php file (for the new location in the root directory) input:

    define(‘WP_HOME’,’https://www.yoursoulsguide.com’);
    define(‘WP_SITEURL’,’https://www.yoursoulsguide.com’);

    I will try that. I just disabled the plugin if that helps. I will report back with what you suggested.

    My guess would be that you created a brand new database and re-installed WordPress because the root domain looks like a new default installation.

    I didn’t have access to the database at the time. All I did was install WP in the root directory. I got access to the database because the wp_config needed to be set up. So once the client responded to me I put in the database information into wp_config for the domain (they have several). So I literally did not touch the server/database.
