Firstly may I explain that I am a complete novice.

My website treadxtyres.com was showing that I had no meta tags, so I installed yoast to do these.
I now get a http error 500 message when trying to access the wp admin page

  • If I were you, and you know thats when you got locked out,I would access your site via FTP and rename the Yoast plugin folder (its called wordpress-seo) then see if you can get back into your site. Sometimes plugins misbehave and cause problems. That should at least allow you to get back in and your site back up.

Disclosure: I am not affiliated with Yoast just another end user offering assistance that may help.

Were you able to resolve the issue? We ask as we have a guide here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/white-screen-when-activating-or-updating-plugin/ which explains more about how to resolve the issue. Note, that you may need to perform a conflict check once the wp-admin page is back-up.
