I upgraded my WordPress to 3.0, and when I go to create a new post, the style menu (Bold, Italics, center, etc) is gone from the Visual view, and I can’t see what I’m typing in the box for the post. The font is white, and I can see it when I highlight it. But since the style menu is gone, I can’t change the font.

I first used automatic upgrade plugin to upgrade, then I manually installed, and it is still not working.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

    increasing the available memory?

Yes, I’ve tried all of the above. It still doesn’t show the menu within the post that allows you to Bold, Italics, center, change color, etc. Here’s a screenshot.

Finally working now, still have a message at the top of my dashboard saying that the upgrade didn’t complete. I guess that’s the auto upgrade. I click it, and it says “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

Everything else seems to be working though, I can live with the message, until the next upgrade. Thanks for your help! ??
