    Hi community

I installed WordPress 4 locally on my Apple OS X 10.9.5 via Bitnami. When I select “Go To Application” on the Bitnami Application Manager I get a blank screen. I am using a Safari browser. Briefly it looked like it was opening localhost:8080 but then nothing in the Address Bar and white on the screen. This also happens when I select “Open phpMyAdmin” in the Bitnami Application Manager.

I should back up and tell you that I have previously, successfully installed Wodpress 4 locally on my Apple OS X 10.9.5 via Bitnami (I have since uninstalled and reinstalled).

I think my problem stems form me trying to install BackWPup files to a previous install (I have since uninstalled and reinstalled). It also probably stems from me trying to use the Apache server that comes with the Apple computer.

At any rate, prior to the current install, I messed around allot with phpMyAdmin, mySQL (primarily the Bitnami database) and the Terminal.

I have tried to troubleshoot this and fix it on my own to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas or a direction you can point me. I’m new to this and I need to get everything up and running.

False alarm, I was able to resolve this. Via the Bitnami Application Manager I stopped the installed MySQL and Apache Web Server. Then I started them all and everything is working fine. Not sure why this worked but it did.
