Hi, I bought my domain and hosting yesterday and installed WordPress to make my website. First time I had installed it in wp directory in root folder so it would open on link manasmdk.com/wp instead of manasmdk.com. So I uninstalled and re-installed my WordPress in the root directory. I haven’t made any changes to any of the files in my directories.

Now, my problem is that when I open manasmdk.com in Internet explorer it opens perfectly and the link to sample page and back home works as well (same on my phone). But when I try to open manasmdk.com in Google Chrome it shows the index page made by my host, and shows me the home page when I go to manasmdk.com/wp why is that? I don’t have any directory called wp in my root.

    Thanks a lot for help.

    Details:
    WordPress version – 3.3.1
    cPanel version – 11.32.2 (build 15)
    Apache version – 2.2.21
    PHP version – 5.3.8
    MySQL version – 5.0.92-50

    Internet Explorer version – 9.0.8112.16421
    Google Chrome version – 18.0.1025.151

  • Your site opens in Google Chrome just fine.

?? That’s funny. Then is it anything to do with my PC? cause it doesn’t open on mine. I have tried by signing out from my cPanel and WordPress site as well but it still shows me the host index page. It is ok if it opens on everyone’s chrome and not mine I can preview in IE. But it seems weird to behave in this way on my PC.

    Thanks a lot ??

Try settings/under the bonnet and clear cache
