    I’ve tried this and unfortunately all it does is save the Installer in my downloads when visit aaronkitney.com/installer.php

    Try this. Open the installer.php file with a text editor, and at the very first line type:

    die(“testing page”);

    Browse to the file again. If you see the text “testing page” then something might be corrupt in the installer file and you might have to recreate the package and installer file.

    If the page is still blank then something might be misconfigured in your web server where it is not processing PHP files correctly. You will need to contact your host for a fix if that is the case…

    My old site isn’t even working now, I deleted the installer and package but it just downloads a file, it has thrown everything off.

    Do you have any ideas?

    dw I’ve fixed the downloading file issue. Trying to get Duplicator working still

    Solved the issue. I deactivated all the plugins on my local site then Duplicated and uploaded the files again.

    Just went through a similar situation but instead of deactivating all the plugin’s, just w3-cache only before creating a package.

    I’ve been at a major site move for about 3 hours with duplicator and still can’t get it to work. I moved the installer and package over. I access the installer.php page just fine and enter in all database information. I test the connection, which is successful, and start the process. It goes for about a minute and then I get a blank page. When I enter the URL of the site, all I see is a prompt to register a new WordPress site.

    Any idea what I’m doing wrong??

    Your probably experiencing timeout restriction on your host… Is this a budget/shared hosting environment?

    Checkout this section on the FAQs I believe it may help with this issue:
    -> Browse to: https://lifeinthegrid.com/duplicator-faq
    -> Find section: “3. Troubleshoot=> Timeout Issues”

    You may have to try the manual extraction mode under the advanced section on step 1 of the installer.php
