  • Hey Annepal,

This how it is suppose to work. Basically you download the installer.php and then open a browser and browse to it. Here is a quick overview.

    Cheers~

    Hi there,
Thank you for your reply and the link.
I have found all the information about how Duplicator is supposed to work, but not much about what to do when the php does not execute but downloads instead.
With the help of an expert, I got at step further yesterday, meaning that the installer.php launched and took me through the three Duplicator installation steps. Everything seemed fine BUT at the 3rd step where you check your new localhost-site, nothing there only the folder with the different files present – and again an php-issue. Very strange especially as the php is working on my other localhost-sites.
So if you have any ideas, please do not hesitate!
    Thank you,

Is there a file in the directory listing called index.php? If so you might try and click on it, the web server may not be setup correctly with index files…

    Hi again,
Thanks for looking into the matter again.
The problem got solved, but I’m not sure how .. I removed the localhost-folder away from htdocs within mamp and to the desk, and it seemed to help. Could it have something to do with the fact that my other localhosts within mamp are on Joomla? Or is there a maximum as to how many one may have within the htdocs-folder?
I’m sorry that I’m not able to come up with a better explanation that might help ..
    Best regards

    Hey Annepal,

It could have been a multitude of issues, if you had a .htaccess file with web server directives in it that could have caused issues. Glad you up and running…

    Cheers~
