Thank you for the feedback. I installed the program 4 times. I finally got rid of 2 errors that kept coming up. VCRUNTIME140.dll and MSVCR110.dll.
However, when I open wampserver64. I installed the 64 bit version. The command prompt opens but the program doesn’t execute. Not sure what the problem is. I will need to look into it later. I have spent enough time on this morning.

    Hi,

You can use xampp server , remember when you start xampp server port 80 needs to free (Quit Skype). Now if xampp server not work properly then you need to update or reinstall your window operating system

Another way: Desktop Server: (no affiliation)

I was following the instructions installing wampserver.
Everything seemed to be going smoothly. However, I came to the following screen https://localhost/phpmyadmin/index.php
It asks for a username and password for the database. Did I miss something along the way? I never was prompted to set this up.

On Windows the username is root, no password. On a Mac it is root/root.

This is where you will create your database for WordPress.

i think for you to install word press you have to create a database in either xamp or wamp server depending on the one you are using, and while creating the database you are requested to enter your preferred user name and password.

i think ull have to use the ones you used or create a new one if you have not.

If you followed the tutorial that @jdembowski posted then all you need to do after installing WAMP is copy the WordPress files to the www directory. Then access the WP install by visiting localhost/www and use ‘test’ as the database name, ‘root’ as the user and leave the password blank since security is not usually an issue during local development. The test db is a blank database for the purpose of developing/testing that is created specifically for this purpose as per MySQL docs.
