• Hi there

I am honestly lost here and it is my first time creating a website. A friend introduced WordPress to me that this is a place for beginner and that the most basic is for free. Somehow I could not find the Installation for setting Up the Web Page.

I would really appreciate to hope to hear from you soon.

  • There’s two “flavours” of WordPress. The first is the free, hosted versiont hat you just sign up to and “create”! That’s over at WordPress.COM.

The secondis what’s available here (.ORG). That’s the WordPress software to install onto your own web server or hosting account. That takes more time to set up, and a little bit of technical knowledge.

Which one you use is up to you, but from experience when people come into it withou tany prior knowledge it’s sometimes better to try the .com version first so you can get a feel for things, and move to a self-hosted version later on when you’ve out-grown it’s capabilities.

First of all you have to establish connection with your hosting file system to have an opportunity to move wordpress files there. When it’s done you need to download the latest version of wordpress from the official website, unzip it and move all the files to the parent directory of your website. The last step before installing WP is to create SQL database on your site. Now your CMS is ready for an installation. To start this procedure, you need to visit https://your-site/wp-admin/install.php and follow the instructions.
