Installing

  • Per the installation instructions, I opened <wp-config-sample.php> and saved it as <wp-config.php>. Then the directions tell me to “upload everything.” This is where I get lost. Upload what and to where.

    I am using Dreamweaver 8 and a rookie web author. I trying to create a Blog for our neighborhood association website.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I almost have a similar problem.
    I use filezilla as a FTP program, I am new in this, so I create on cPanel the data base with user, passw and create a db name as the manual says. after that I create all, then change the info on config-sample.php and rename it. I use to have this same site in one host, but now I change it to a new one and now is not working. this is the problem that appear:

    PHP Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required ‘/home/grupoagu/public_html/wp/wp-includes/wp-db.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/grupoagu/public_html/wp/wp-settings.php on line 39

    I don’t know what this means, looks like some conections are not wirking as it needs to be. I ask my host if they have the rigth versions of PHP, MySQL etc etc… but everything is fine. what is the next step to make this connection works?
    This is a website for a group of NGO and a company that I am trying to help. … but not with so good results for now LOL.

    That happened to me and I found that a couple of files didn’t get transferred. Check that all the files made it over by FTP – specifically, any files mentioned in the error message.

    I did it, but all the files are there, I retransfered 3 times to be sure but nothing happens. looks like the conection between MySQL in my cPanel and some files on wordpress are not getting the right conections. I’m still lost any other ideas?

    I’m sorry, i think that this area was for installing troubles. I’m new in this great space of wordpress.

    It’s ok.. ?? It’s just a little easier and nicer to have each person’s post separately though.. it just makes things messy for everyone, if people are trying to help numerous of people’s problems all in one thread.. ya know.. lol?
