    Hi Forum ??

I’m brand new to WordPress and i’m really struggling to find solutions to a couple of my queries. Apologies, but i don’t know what version i have.

Just to give you a summary of where i’m at before i highlight the problems i’m having:

    – I purchased my domain (baseyoga.co.uk) and paid wordpress to map it so my site doesn’t have .wordpress in the address

    – My site needs 4 simple headings with drop down options on the homepage

    – I have the FREE package

    – I believe WordPress are hosting this site for me

    – I ‘activated’ Edin theme to my WordPress

So that’s where i’m up to. Now that i’ve activate Eden, i’m trying (but having problems with the following:

    – Finding my CSS code to change body colour. It’s not shown in ‘Editor’ under ‘Appearance’. Do i need to upgrade Edin theme to premium? If so, how much does this cost and how do i do it? DO i just got to my account, upgrade my account and it does it automatically?

    – I don’t want my posts to show with ‘leave comments’ ‘like’ or the posting date. How do i do this?

    Thank you in advance

  • Usually you can see style.css file in Appearance > Editor > Under Styles you can see Style.css. Click on it to edit your css file.

You can disable comments by installing disable comments and then it won’t show leave comments.

You can also remove posting date
click on Editor in the admin sidebar and open functions.php. Search the text for “Posted on” and edit as you like.

Thanks Dheeraj, although i only have the following headings under appearance:

    – Themes
    -Customise
    -Widgets
    -Meus
    -Header
    -Background
    -Mobile

…and i can’t find the CSS in these. I will be in the wordpress section where the grey menu is down the left hand side, but when i click onto anything to do with the theme (i.e. background etc..) it throws me back to my wordpress account with site editing features, it’s a blue and white area.

    any ideas?

    Many thanks

You can choose -Customise to customize colors and backgrounds. Since you are hosted at wordpress you won’t get access to edit your css files.

If you want, you need to get hosting and download wordpress and install it in your own server.

As i’m a total novice, i really don’t want to do that. PLus i have paid WordPress to map my domain.

If i upgraded to premium would i be able to change the colours? And why does hosting with WordPress limited changes?

    Yes you can.
