• I am using x10 hosting. I have done the installation process probably about 15 times seeing if I can do something different to make it work. After I install the updated version in cpanel, I can’t get anywhere else. I want to be able to install third party themes, but I keep failing in what I think is step 5 of the installation process, the “run the script,” because nothing happens. I have rechecked over and over to make sure mySQL is setup and concurs with the config file. Please help. I’m ready to give up.

  • Hi mipeacock,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having issues installing WordPress. Since you’re using cPanel, it’s likely that your web host offers easy installation through Fantastico De Luxe (or a similar installer script). Here are easy to follow instructions for installing WordPress through Fantastico in cPanel:

    https://www.webhostinghub.com/support/edu/cpanel/102-fantastico-de-luxe-/install-using-fantastico

Note, when using an installer script such as Fantastico, the instructions are not quite the same as the famous 5-minute installation. When using an installer script, you shouldn’t need to run the WordPress installation script by accessing wp-admin/install.php as that should be taken care of by the installer script within cPanel.

    I hope this helps!
