Installing in a subfolder

  • Hi there!

    I installed a new WP and some themes into a subfolder.

    The installation looks fine, however the page doesn’t: concretely the photos are not being showed fine, I mean, it seems that the theme doesn’t work properly.

    I tested some different themes, and always the same problem.

    So, the bulb was lighted as soon as I clicked on a section: the link send to the main directory.

    Does it mean that the theme is not being showing right, because the WP was installed on a subfolder?

    What’s your opinion about?

    Did you installed WP in a subfolder? What’s your experience? Did you have to change something to make WP working right?

  • WordPress works fine when installed in a subfolder. There’s nothing you need to change to have it work correctly.

    If you are installing in a subfolder because you have live files in the root folder, sometimes entries in the root folder’s .htaccess file can affect other folders. If you can post a URL of a page that is not working correctly (images not loading) someone can help you debug.

    There’s nothing you need to change to have it work correctly.

    I heard something about it, some time ago, but I don’t remember now that I need to do. I think it’s required to change something … but I don’t get remember what.

    No, I don’t have any interesting file for this WP site.

    If you can post a URL of a page that is not working correctly (images not loading)

    One theme doesn’t show the images at home, but others yes. These themes that are showing the images, it seems that doesn’t work fine because the images aren’t showed as the theme should do. So, this is the reason why I think is something more general, not about theme …

    Some help, please?
