Installing Ioncube on Multisite network? Can it be done?

    I need to install Ioncube to get a plugin to work on my WordPress network. I’ve installed it properly in the root folder (as confirned when running phpinfo.php.txt) and can activate the plugin in Network Admin (after uploading php.ini to the network folder). But whenever I go to one of the new sites (i.e. subdirectories) WordPress crashes saying Ioncube loader isnt properly installed. The plugin IonCube tester also confirms that Ioncube isnt installed in any new websites I create.

    Does anyone know where I should upload the php.ini script to get IonCube to work in any of the websites on my network? WordPress doesnt appear to create any new folders for any websites I add into which I could upload php.ini?
