Hi, I tried to installed multisite language switcher. I run a website https://www.html-5.ca, I created a folder /en and a folder /fr and installed an english version of wordpress in the /en folder and a french version of wordpress in the /fr folder. After I did that, I copied the entire folder multisite-language-switcher in the wp-content plugins folder of each wordpress. When I try to activate it I got this error message : multisite-language-switcher This plugin needs the activation of the multisite-feature for working properly. Please read this post if you don’t know the meaning. So I went to the post it directed me to : https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Create_A_Network

My question is do I really need to create a Network ? All I want is too have a bilingual wordpress website, surely there is an easy solution ? I tried qtranslate but it does not translate everything in the theme : see https://www.juliecloutier.com I can’t get bilingual text widget and also have problem with the “Leave comments” being in english on the french version of the site.

Anyone has an easy and simple solution to create bilingual website with wordpress ?

It is sort of working, it did import all the pages post and menus I am trying to copy all the gallery into the folder associated with the new sub-directory for the /en version of the site. But I have a major issue with the styling and the theme. I will post a thread in my themes forum, I am using Thesis 2.0 and it does not want to let me style anything in this new /en site. I will let you know in the end if I am able to solve this issue with the theme.

But a big thank you because at least I have the start of a solution.

Big thank you, this was the best way to go, very simple export and import. But, I needed to installed the theme and import my theme styling first, otherwise it would not work. Once I got my theme installed, I imported the pages, post, etc… with the big old export import tool.

A huge thank you, you are truly good at helping out, I posted for 2 days in other thread and every solution that I was proposed was complicated and would not work.
