Installing on Windows Server

    Hi all,

    I have sites on 2 servers with the hosting company I am with, one is Linux and 1 is Windows. I have installed WordPress on a few sites on the Linux server but now need to install it on a site on the Windows server.

    Are the steps the same as installing on a Linux server. I seen in the codex something about installing Microsoft Web Platform Installer (Web PI)- is this necessary?

  • Hi,

    Yes installation process is same on both linux and window server.
    To install WordPress on Windows you need a Version of IIS or Apache ,PHP and MySql which are compatible with WordPress.

    Just wanted to confirm the installation process was the same before I started it.
