• I’m trying to install stats.php. I used Blue Host’s unlimited FTP to upload stats.php to the plugins folder in the directory. The instructions say to then go to admin plugins, and activate the newly installed stats plug. But I don’s see the stats plugin on the admin plugins page. I see the two other plugins -akismet and hello dolly, but not stats.

How do I activate the stats plugin? I’ve already installed in the plugins directory. I can see it in the plugins directory.

  • hmm, that’s basically all there is to it… if stats.php is in the same folder as hello, etc. then it should appear in the list.

… this assumes that the stats.php is a valid plugin file, with the appropriate comments at the top which WP will read before displaying it.

I went back and looked in the plugins folder and stats.php was gone. So I reinstalled with unilimited FTP and again, and this time it works. It showed up on the plugis page, and I activated it.

So does WP’s stats plugin show up on my site now? I don’t see it. How do I access the data?

that’s a question for the plugin author
