• Hello

I have downloaded some plugins I want to install on my blog. I am able to upload files to wp-content folder but I don’t have access to this folder so I don’t know how to unzip the archived file containing the plugin…

Is there a way to install a plugin online from a zip file located in wp-content folder? Maybe other solutions?

    Thanks in advance

    Take0n

Hello and thanks for that fast reply

As I mentioned above I have not access to the files nor the folders. I am only able to upload files through the admin panel and I am also able to select where to upload so if I enter wp-content/plugins then the upload will point to that directory..

I have no username or password (I have tried with my login name and pass as an admin but with no success) so I want to know if there is a way to install a plugin through wordpress admin panel by selecten the plugin folder ir zip file from my computer

Then unzip the zip on your desktop, upload the files, creating directories for them if you need to.. and you are done.

Some control panels let you upload, some dont. Talk to your host..

The problem is that I don’t want to mess things up. If I enter wp-content/plugins/nameofplugin as the upload directory will this folder be created automatic?

It is a good idea if it works but I’m affraid. I can’t ask my host for support as it is late and I really want to upload som news before morning.

I will try it and hope it doesn’t mess things up…

    Thank you very much
