• I have followed the 5 minute installtion guide to get WordPress up an running but it says something about noting down a ‘password’ before copying the URL into my browser. I can’t find a password. Then when i copy the URL into the browser it then asks for a user name and password. I entered my FTP username and password however then i just get asked to save an ‘install.php’ file and whether you save or open it nothing happens and i am not directed to the wordpress site ??

i have been at this for 4 hours now – this is not easy (as it states) at all!

  • Did you run wp-admin/install.php?

I copied the link to my browser, hit enter and it asked for a username and password. I know that the username is ‘admin’ but i have no idea what the password is. Everything i read says ‘note the password displayed’ but where was it/is it displayed? I can’t find a password ?? So i don’t get any further

I have noticed a lot of people are having trouble with this, i have a nice script that makes installing wordpress as simple as uploading one file to a directory entering your db information – anyone interested in this?

    yes please

yes please could I jave the scrip that makes installing easy

erowett, heres an easy install method using a script i wrote

    https://anchorwave.com/wp-content/uploads/AnchorPress.txt

Go to that url and copy the code into a .php file (you can do this with any text editor just make sure you save the file .php extension). Upload this file to an empty directory wherever you want to install and then navigate to it, ie https://emmarowettphotography.com/AnchorPress.php

This screen will prompt you to add your database information and then grabs the latest version of wordpress and installs. Let me know if you have questions.
