Installing WordPress on Tomcat 7

  • I have tomcat 7.0.8 installed locally on my pc and am trying to figure out how to install wordpress on it. How can I get this going?

    I want to use tomcat as the local web server to build wordpress sites.

  • Tomcat is for Java Servlet and JavaServer Pages. You’ll need Apache or IIS as the web server, along with PHP and mySQL.

    Well, if you have apache, the classic 5 minute installation at https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Installing_WordPress works simply fine. Please make sure that your apache is configured for PHP (PHP5 would be better) and then follow the instructions on the page.

    Hi everybody. After installing and configuring WordPress.I have this message:

    We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the wordpress database.
    ?Are you sure it exists?
    ?Does the user root have permission to use the wordpress database?
    ?On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_wordpress. Could that be the problem?
    If you don’t know how to set up a database you should contact your host. If all else fails you may find help at the WordPress Support Forums.
